Welcome to the Northern Ireland War Memorial.

The War Memorial was opened in 2007. It replaced an earlier building -
Memorial House - which was situated in Waring Street on a site which was
bombed during the Blitz in 1941.

AIM

The purpose of the War Memorial is to:

  • be an enduring memorial to those who fell in WW1 and WW2.
  • provide offices for the Royal British Legion and other
    ex-service charities.
  • commemorate the association of the USA Armed Forces with
    Northern Ireland in WW2.

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. On this day people across the nation pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave Service men and women. This year Remembrance Sunday will be on Sunday 9th November.

Group visits by arrangement with the Education and Outreach Officer.
Admission free.

Literature

Leaflets about the Northern Ireland War Memorial and the Home Front Exhibition are available free at the reception.
