Education and Outreach Programme.

Find out what life was like in Northern Ireland during the Second World War!

Our Education and Outreach department runs a range of visits, activities and workshops for school and adult groups.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS PROGRAMME

We have a comprehensive schools programme with a wide variety of activities and workshops that are based around topics relevant to the primary curriculum.

These include -

The start of World War 2, the Home Front, the Belfast Blitz, evacuation, rationing, life during the War, the role of women at War and Victory and the End of the War.

Each visit can be tailored to meet the needs of every class, including which topics are focused on, which activities are included and the length of the visit.

To assist school groups to visit the Home Front Exhibition a travel grant of up to £100 per group is available.

ADULT GROUP VISITS

All community groups, professional bodies, ex-Service organisations, secondary schools and other further and higher education groups are invited to book a visit to the Home Front Exhibition.

Did you live through the Belfast Blitz?  Are you interested in what life was like in Northern Ireland during World War Two or perhaps you have stories from your own family's history?

Take a tour round the Home Front Exhibition and enjoy our 24 part presentation which gives an overview of Northern Ireland during World War Two.

The full presentation takes approximately one hour but can be tailored to meet the needs of your group.

Opening Hours
