Lt J. R. Bainbridge was an official war photographer in Northern Ireland during the Second World War whilst his wife, Kathleen, volunteered as a Red Cross Nurse.

This collection contains not only the official war photographs taken by Lt. J. R. Bainbridge but also many of his wife, Kathleen. She is pictured above, second from left, with other Red Cross Nurses. (NIWM:2015.2101.16). It also contains Kathleen's Red Cross medals, certificates and training manuals.
