George was presumed dead as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 12 June 1941.

He lost his life at his home on Hogarth Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

At least 69 people, including His wife Mary were also killed on Hogarth Street.
