Auxiliary Fireman Brice Harkness was killed with his colleague, Archibald McDonald, when they mistook a parachute mine for a German parachutist during the dockside raid on the 8th April 1941.

They were the first fatalities of the Belfast Blitz.

Brice was the son of Thomas Harkness and he is buried in Forthill Cemetery, Cookstown.
