Known as Jean, she was declared dead 'in consequence of war operations' at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 23 July 1941.

She lost her life on Hogarth Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid. In total, 69 people were killed on this street including her husband Frederick.

They are buried together at Carnmoney Parish Church.
