John was killed by falling masonry on Ballyclare Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid. Four others, including his wife Sarah, also lost their lives here.
His body was taken to St George's Market where he was identified by his nephew.
John is buried with his wife Sarah at Carnmoney Public Cemetery.
