Known as May, she was killed when a parachute mine landed nearby causing the house she was in to collapse.

Her daughter Ethel and son-in-law Vincent were killed in the same incident.

May’s body was taken to St George’s Market where she was identified by her son. She is buried in Drumbeg Churchyard with her son-in-law.
