Catherine was killed when a wall of York Street Spinning Mill collapsed onto Sussex Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

At least 20 people in total were killed here including her niece Agnes, grand nephew Hugh and grand nieces Mary and Elizabeth.

Her body was taken to Peters Hill Baths where she was identified by her nephew in law.

Catherine is buried at Milltown Cemetery with her niece and her family.
