Edward was declared dead 'in consequence of war operations' at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 26 June 1941.

He was killed at his home on Walton Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

His father David and sister Agnes also lost their lives along with 13 others on Walton Street.
