John was killed at his home on Heather Street by a parachute mine during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
His wife Bridget and son Allen, along with 37 others from Heather Street were also killed in the blast.
John's body was taken to St George's Market where he was identified by his brother. He is buried in Dundonald Cemetery.
