Patrick was killed by falling masonry when a parachute mine landed on Veryan Gardens during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

At least 35 people were killed in this incident including his children Gerald, Thomas and Bridget.

His body was taken to St George's Market where he was identified by his nephew.
