Samuel was declared dead 'in consequence of war operations' at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 19 June 1941.
He was killed at his home on Walton Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid along with his wife Kathleen and daughter Annie. Thirteen others also lost their lives.
