Thomas was presumed killed as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 23 July 1941.
He lost his life on Hogarth Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
At least 69 people lost their lives on Hogarth Street including his parents Joseph and Susannah, brothers Arthur and Robert and sisters Maggie, Susannah and Annie and aunt Maggie.
Thomas is buried in Knock Burial Ground with his siblings and aunt.
