Thomas was killed at his aunt Elizabeth's home at 34 Unity Street when a parachute mine struck the spire of Trinity Street Church during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

His mother Mary Anne, aunt Elizabeth and first cousin once removed Sofia also lost their lives.

Additionally, his colleagues of ARP Post 396 Maurice, Shaun, Rory, Robert, Kathleen and Eileen were also killed in this incident.

He is buried in Milltown Cemetery.
