Sofia was killed at her cousin Elizabeth's home at 34 Unity Street when a parachute mine struck the spire of Trinity Street Church during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

Her cousins Elizabeth and Mary Anne and first cousin once removed Thomas were also killed.

Sofia’s body was taken to St George’s Market where she was identified by her brother.
