Violet was presumed dead as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 19 June 1941.

She lost her life when 95 Blythe Street was hit by a bomb during the Easter Tuesday Raid. Her daughters Vera and Ella, sister Mary Jane, brother David and nephews David, John and Ernest were also killed.
