Charles was killed when a wall of York Street Spinning Mill collapsed onto Sussex Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

His wife Elizabeth and son Dennis were also killed. His half brother Francis was also killed.

Charles’ body was taken to St George’s Market where he was identified by his mother.

He is buried in Milltown Cemetery with his wife and brother.
