Ulster University's Museums, Crisis and Covid-19 Project

Ulster University's Museums, Crisis and Covid-19 project has recently published its final reports covering three themes:

  • Museums and and the Pandemic
  • Museums and Digital Media
  • Museums and Community Wellbeing

In these reports, the project highlights different aspects of the experience of museums during the pandemic and offers important recommendations for the future of the museum sector in Northern Ireland.

The Northern Ireland War Memorial was pleased to take part in the project, with our Outreach Officer Michael Fryer contributing an interview as part of the research. In the three reports you can read about some of our digital programmes including taking part in the Playful Museums Festival 2021 and the dementia friendly programme Memories, Movement and Museums, both with funding from the Northern Ireland Museums Council.

You can read the reports here: Museums Crisis and Covid-19 Project Results.

Make sure to also read NIWM Outreach Officer Michael Fryer's blog post for the project: Community wellbeing, engagement and outreach during Covid-19: Northern Ireland War Memorial.
